Ferring is opening an IT Center of Excellence (CoE) in Lisbon, Portugal, which is integrally part of Ferring’s Global IT Function. and we are looking to attract qualified and motivated candidates. To enable Ferring to govern and design our infrastructure hosting and network, we are now recruiting a professional team that will support on our journey

Your new role

• The primary responsibility of architects is to plan, design and assist with the implementation of hosting & networking services and establish a strong governance.

• Help to define infrastructure strategies (Scaling, arrangement, use case) with IT business partners to understand their needs and to update the hosting & networking strategies designed to meet those needs

• Responsible for hosting & networking Architecture adherence to Best Practices

• Translating project-specific needs into an infrastructure solution that will suit those needs and considering the project needs in terms of resource usage and scalability

• Interact with and advise business representatives of the application regarding functional and non-functional requirements

• Identify dependencies and common infrastructure components, and to assess aggregation methods, ensure relevant artefacts on technology infrastructure, e.g. run-books, processes, diagrams

• Configuration management are created and maintain ownership of related artefacts

• Ensure the hosting & network infrastructure solution lifecycle is applied by our partner

• Validate solutions meet design requirements

• Audit & validate tools and techniques used by the outsourcer to maintain our infrastructure including monitoring

• Work closely with project managers, IT Business partners, and vertical teams to avoid redundancy, minimize expenditures and improve overall synergy within the organization.

• Collaborate with application architects and DevOps to modernize infrastructure as a service (IaaS) applications to Platform as a Service (PaaS)

• Create solutions that support a DevOps approach for delivery and operations of services

• Ensure that all solutions follow security and compliance controls, including data sovereignty

• Identify system integration opportunities

• Act as Single point of contact between IT applications, business and suppliers for architecture and design purpose

• Be on control of asset needed to operate our infrastructure and manage outsourcer cost.

What you'll need to succeed

• We are looking for a talented individual who has 5+ years' experience designing, executing, and supporting large IT infrastructure solutions

• Strong architecture & design expertise deep knowledge on Microsoft, Cisco and Linux Technology

• In-depth skills relating to virtualization, software-defined network, networking, communications, physical and virtual storage, data center network, backup, disaster recovery, and cloud solution

• Deep knowledge of IaaS (Particularly Azure) and PaaS services & architecture offered on cloud platforms and understand how to use them together to establish a secure platform for complex solutions

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and database administration, including Always On

• Knowledge of networking engineering, including DNS, firewalls, load balancers, etc,

• Experience managing and remediating HyperV environments leveraging a large cross section of HyperV on-premise focused product integrations

• Knowledge of best practices for IT operations in an always-on, always-available service mode

• Proven background in the design and implementation of large scale, global, complex custom application development systems (e.g., high transaction volumes)

• Strong experience working with- and managing Outsourcing providers

• Experience working within regulated industries

• Experience problem solving issues on distributed systems and critical product service environments

• Experiences with Agile Scrum methodology, nice to have Safe Framework

• Good communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately with senior manager and technical teams

• Excellent influencing and reasoning skills

• Good at conflict resolution and consensus building

• Excellent organizational, coordination, interpersonal and communication skills,
