Ferring is opening an IT Center of Excellence (CoE) in Lisbon, Portugal, to build and operate a new global ERP platform and we are looking to attract qualified and motivated candidates. To enable Ferring to keep up with new demands, changes and business needs, we are now recruiting a professional team that will implement the new ERP in countries throughout the world as well as its central and support functions. The ERP program is expected to run for at least four years and the scope of the new team’s work will include global implementation, as well as on-going operation and maintenance. In addition, the IT CoE in Lisbon will be an integral part of Ferring’s Global IT Function.

Your new role

In your role as Principal SAP S/4HANA System Architect, you will be responsible for defining and communicating a shared vision for SAP Program Solution and co-ordinating the system or solution under development according to the business needs. You will be responsible for E2E SAP Solution integration and management of dependencies between work packages and program teams and support the integration office in Release Planning, PI events and other technical dependencies.

You will also play a critical role in aligning teams on a shared technical direction and partner with those teams in elaborating the solution, validating technology assumptions, evaluating implementation alternatives; participate in planning, definition, and high level design of the solution and exploration of solution alternatives; support detailed design of industry specific/corporate customer processes based on SAP product family, ISV components and customer specific development, that maps to the current or future customers process, application and system landscape, including proposals for software decisions.

It is also your responsibility to review business processes and map these into IT architecture; support the analysis of technical trade-offs; determine the primary components and subsystems; identify the interfaces/touchpoints and collaborations between them and work with Teams to ensure fit for purpose; manage program backlog, technical dependencies and support definition of SAP Features; own E2E Solution design for SAP and integrated components and assess the impact of changes; attend design and program government meetings; support the impact assessment of changes; and support Architectural board on SAP solution design related discussions.

Finally, you will support PM and Integration management in planning key program activities (e.g. E2E testing, technical go live, business go live) and participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning and Pre and Post PI Planning, System and Solution Demos, and Inspect and Adapt (I &A) events.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need around 15 years of experience in similar roles, including in depth knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, SAP Cloud Platform and Cloud Azure Environment, as well as running SAP systems in Azure. You will need a strong E2E understanding of the chosen SAP solution, as well as Project Lifecycle Management Components. We are ideally looking for Life Sciences background, coupled with strong collaboration and teamworking skills. You will have first class communication skills, and able to inspire and engage people behind the technical solution in order to deliver results.
